This week our Amnesty Youth Club held an Iranian lunch and food stall in the Agora to help raise awareness and discussion of the situation currently facing the people of Iran. 

Members of the Amnesty Youth Club drew specific attention to the imprisonment of Nasrin Sotoudeh, an Iranian human rights lawyer and ardent defender of women's rights.  Currently facing 38 years in prison as well as 148 lashes for bravely using her voice to stand up for women and their right to dress how they wish to. 

When Nasrin was previously sentenced in 2010 to 6 years, it was thanks to the thousands standing up for her that she was released.  The youth group called for people to find out more  Amnesty International petition to help free Nasrin
