Here is a step-by-step guide that will take you from application to September 2025 enrolment at LAE.

1. Attend our open EVENING

Our open evenings this year took place on Thursday 14th November 2024 (in person) and Thursday 28th November 2024 (virtual). Thank you to all who joined us!

Please note that we are not able to facilitate private or independent visits of the school at any other point in the year unless for exceptional circumstances which will need to be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Open Evenings are your opportunity to find out everything you need to know about LAE and our facilities and speak with our students and staff. 

We host one in-person Open Evening and one virtual Open Evening in November each year. It is a ticketed event. The booking link for the Open Evenings is typically released at the end of September each year and gets booked up usually within 30-45 minutes of release. We therefore encourage you to keep an eye out for when we release tickets.

2. Submit your online application

Submission deadline: Friday 31st January 2025

Applications are made online and the application form is available here: Apply to LAE Stratford.

You must:

• start your application form before Friday 24 January 2025
• submit your completed application by Friday 31 January 2025

References and predicted grades:

All applications must be supported by a reference from a teacher at your current school who will verify the information you have provided us with - this reference will be requested automatically upon completion of your online application and must be submitted by Friday 14 February 2025, along with any changes to submitted applications. Unfortunately, we cannot consider any changes to predicted grades after the reference deadline in February in order to follow our Admissions Policy fairly. 

Your predicted grades need to meet our minimum entry requirements in order for you to submit your application. If you think you will receive more accurate predicted grades in the next few months, do not worry as you will have until January 31, 2025 to submit your application. You can simply save your progress on the application and exit. 

If you think you won't have the best predicted grades until after the reference deadline in February, you must speak to your referee (usually your head of Year or teacher) directly about agreeing on a set of predicted grades that they would be happy to submit for you. 

3. Accept your provisional offer

MARCH 2025

Having submitted an application and attended a guidance meeting, successful applicants will receive a provisional offer of a place at LAE. You must accept this offer in principle and confirm the details of your offer, including your A level subject choices, are correct.

4. Come to a taster day

We invite provisional offer-holders to attend one of our Taster Days: an individually timetabled afternoon of A-level taster classes and an excellent opportunity to meet students, who are studying the subjects you are interested in, and our expert teaching staff. You will also receive information about enrolment and induction and life at LAE.

• Day 2: Wednesday 25 June 2025, 13:30

5. Enrol at LAE

GCSE Results Day, 21 August 2025 - Onsite Enrolment Days, 21 and 22 August 2025

Collect your GCSE results and if you have met, or exceeded, the conditions of your provisional offer submit your results online to LAE along with your transcripts and a scan/image of your official ID.  Successful provisional offer holders will then be invited to enrol and must attend in person on enrolment day to complete their enrolment at LAE Stratford.  Please note that no place at LAE Stratford is guaranteed until you have completed your enrolment.

If you did not receive a provisional offer you will be able to join a waiting list for spare places. Please note that we cannot guarantee that there will be spare places and the chances of there being any are very low.
