LAE appoints new Deputy Head (Academic)
The London Academy of Excellence is pleased to welcome Ms. Eve Rahman as its new Deputy Head (Academic) starting in September.
Ms. Rahman is a mission-driven school leader with a passionate commitment to LAE’s social mobility agenda. She joins the school from St. Bonaventure’s School in Forest Gate, where she is currently Deputy Director of Sixth Form. Ms. Rahman has been at St. Bonaventure’s for 15 years and has spent her entire teaching career in East London schools. Originally from Belfast, she is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science and of Warwick University.
“I am delighted that the school has found a new Deputy Head (Academic) so personally aligned to its mission to transform the life chances of young people from less-advantaged backgrounds,” said Mr. Alex Crossman, Headteacher.
“LAE is committed to developing independent, enthusiastic, academic learners. This mirrors my own vision of encouraging students to fall in love with learning so that their horizons are as broad and aspirational as possible,” said Ms. Rahman.
Ms. Rahman will oversee the academic life of the school. She will build on the distinguished work of her predecessor, Ms. Claudia Harrison, who is leaving the school in September to join the schools’ inspectorate, Ofsted.
