LAE students achieve record A level results

LAE 2024 0876LAE students achieved record A level results in summer 2024 relative to any previous set of public exams.

Almost three quarters of all grades achieved by LAE students were in the range A* to A and more than nine tenths of all grades were in the range A* to B. LAE students bucked the trend nationally, which was for a much more modest increase in top grades dominated by fee-paying independent schools.

“We could not be prouder of this inspirational group of young scholars,” said Alex Crossman, LAE Headteacher.

LAE ranks among the top 10 schools of all kinds—state, independent and selective—for A level outcomes in 2024, based on research by The Times. The percentage of LAE students who have been eligible for free school meals is more than five times higher of any other school in the top 10. The LAE was recently admitted to the World Leading Schools Association based on its commitment to academic excellence and to increasing access to higher education for disadvantaged students.

LAE students are bound for top universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, the London School of Economics, UCL and Warwick. Thirty-five students in the graduating class are headed to British medical schools.
