About LAE
Mohammed Altab
ALUMNI (2014-2016)
FINANCE: Associate, Vitruvian Partners
Mohammed credits his well-rounded education at LAE, which balanced academics with a strong focus on extracurricular activities, for helping him achieve success.
With A’ levels in Maths, Chemistry, and Geography, Mohammed was a strong academic. But it was the school's diverse extracurricular program that truly left a lasting impression. He highlights his participation in the Army Cadet Force and a collaborative Chemistry project with Oxford University as experiences that fostered valuable skills beyond the classroom. His advice to LAE students includes immersing yourselves in extra-curricular activities to not only enhance your well-roundedness but also to create opportunities to build friendships outside the classroom.
Following a gap year, Mohammed read Geography with Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He currently works for Vitruvian Partners, a private equity fund, where he leverages his skills in investor relations and fundraising.
Mohammed is a strong advocate for planning and mentorship and emphasises the value of seeking guidance to help shape your career path and success. But for Mohammed success is not simply about material possessions but about a holistic wellbeing and having contentment in your lifestyle and with your family.
His experience exemplifies the transformative power of education and the importance of prioritising both academic achievement and personal growth. His advice to current and future LAE students is a valuable reminder to embrace all that LAE has to offer and to take all the help offered to chart your personal course towards a fulfilling and successful future.
