The extra-curricular focus had a massive impact on the connections I've developed and the work I still do. It emboldened me to give back and help others much as I was helped.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at LAE. It provided me with the culture, facilities and the know-how to push for excellence in my career. I had excellent economics teachers that inspired me to study it at university. The extra-curricular focus has had a massive impact on the connections I've developed and the work I still do. It has emboldened me to give back and help others much like I was helped.
I studied Economics at the London School of Economics and I'm currently doing a Wealth Analyst role at JP Morgan, we analyse client portfolios, we do performance reporting for them and we help clients to understand the performance of their portfolios and LAE definitely helped me to achieve my potential and opened up different ways for me to display my talents.
My advice to any student would be to:
- Take advantage of all the opportunities. You never know which one will accelerate your career or open new doors.
- Give back. Take part in the outreach programs, engage in the extra curricular events and sessions.
- Keep on track with all work so that you don't have to cram at the end. Burnout is a real thing so pace yourself
- Focus on building your hard skills as well as your academic knowledge. Hard skills (tech skills for example) are what helps accelerate your career
