LAE 10th Anniversary Celebration
This week we were delighted to host our 10th Anniversary Celebration at the beautiful Senate House at the University of London.
Celebrating 10 years of excellence in education with students, alumni, colleagues, friends and supporters of LAE was truly an honour for us. We would like to extend our thanks to all those who were able to join us and to our friends, alumni and students who delighted us by sharing some of their thoughts and experiences.
We are always honoured by external recognition such as The Times' ranking as the highest performing mainstream state sixth form to offer a full curriculum and being named by T4 Education as one of the Top 3 schools in the world for Student Wellbeing, but nothing is more important than knowing what a difference we have made, and continue to make, to our students lives and their opportunity to truly achieve their potential.
Before LAE opened in September 2012 only 330 Newham sixth formers took A-levels through Newham providers; fewer than 40 students from Newham schools and colleges progressed to Russel Group Universities and only three Newham students progressed to the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge.
In the past 10 academic years LAE has sent more than 1,350 students to Russell Group universities, 200 to study Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science and over 150 to Oxford or Cambridge and we are looking forward to our tenth cohort of students, who are currently sitting their A-level exams, to swell these numbers.
Something truly worth celebrating!
