Triumph in GAIN Investment Challenge
A team of Year 12 students from LAE has been named the overall winner of the 2024 GAIN Investment Challenge, a national competition designed to introduce young women and non-binary students to the world of investment management.
Three teams from LAE took part, and all placed in the top 25 - out of over 140 teams! The winning team of Sara, Amber, Sofia, Myra and Trinity impressed judges with their innovative stock pitch, presenting as a panel of investors debating the merits of investing in ASOS. Judges said the group's presentation was “a breath of fresh air with great arguments and strong research,” and their report was “very high-quality, with a clear, well-reasoned conclusion.”
The GAIN Investment Challenge, run by Girls Are Investors (GAIN), saw over 800 students from across England participate this year. Each team was tasked with analysing a publicly listed company and producing a detailed investment recommendation. The LAE students' creative approach and thorough analysis set them apart in a highly competitive field.
LAE is committed to fostering analytical thinking and real-world skills among our students, and we look forward to seeing what the GAIN teams achieve next.
The winning team will be honoured at the GAIN Awards event next month, celebrating their outstanding accomplishment.
