LAE Summer Sports Day

On Monday 24th June, LAE's Year 12 students descended on West Ham Park for the annual LAE Sports Day. Despite sweltering temperatures, the day proved a resounding triumph, a testament to the unwavering spirit of our students.

Volleyball sports day 1Our six houses vied for glory in a range of traditional events: Tug o' War, Relay, Girls and Boys Football, Rounders and Volleyball. This year also saw the introduction of the exhilarating Predator Team Tag, a new, thrilling three team game where each team battles in the arena as both predator and prey (hunter and hunted).

Prioritising student well-being in the soaring temperatures, organisers implemented a three-pronged safety plan. A well-stocked cool box provided a supply of chilled water bottles, events were strategically relocated to shaded areas wherever possible, and a fully equipped first-aid station was available throughout the day. These proactive measures ensured a safe and successful event, filled with the enthusiastic cheers and unwavering support of housemates.

Special thanks go to our professional Football and Volleyball coaches who lent their expertise to LAE staff in running the events. Their contribution undoubtedly enhanced the day's competitive spirit and overall enjoyment.
