One of the top schools for University Destinations

The LAE is proud to feature once again in The Telegraph as one of the top schools in the country for university destinations.

Telegraph best schools for oxbridge 2024LAE consistently ranks amongst the top 10 schools in England for the percentage of students progressing to higher education, to Russell Group universities and to Oxbridge. LAE is one of only three state funded schools to make this list and has by far the highest proportion of students identified as coming from a disadvantaged background.

As well as ranking in the top schools, this year we celebrated that, for the first time in our history, offers from Cambridge were matched by offers from Oxford, and record numbers of LAE students secured offers to join some of the most competitive degrees, including Medicine, Pure Mathematics, and PPE.

Everyone at the LAE believes that our success extends far beyond these impressive headline figures. The school takes great pride in the fact that our cohort includes a disproportionately high number of disadvantaged students who are supported and encouraged to fulfil their potential.  This achievement reflects LAE's unwavering commitment to levelling the playing field through the highest quality academics, robust wellbeing programmes, amazing peer support, professional mentorship and career opportunities and a diverse range of co and super-curricular activities.

Students are delighted to once again be included in the list of top schools in the country and are keen to add that the LAE is not just about academic excellence:

"LAE has a strong reputation of academic excellence, but it's the community-feel and social scene that really sets it apart."

"LAE is a place that values academia, but also allows for creativity."

"LAE is a diverse community of students who can learn lots from being in the same environment as each other."

LAE's dedication to academic excellence coupled with its focus on social and emotional wellbeing continues to position the school as a leader amongst schools in the UK.
