London Academy of Excellence (LAE) is seeking to recruit a skilled Lead Teacher of Politics to join this ambitious, academic sixth form. LAE is an Outstanding, heavily oversubscribed school located in the heart of Stratford, close to the Olympic Park and just two minutes from Stratford Station (zone 2/3), with excellent links to all parts of London.

LAE is the top-ranked sixth form provider in England to offer a full A level curriculum, according to The Sunday Times Parent Power Survey 2022. The school is particularly proud of its success in helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain places at the finest universities in the UK and around the world. Over 1,400 of our alumni have progressed to Russell Group universities and over 150 to Oxford or Cambridge. 

We are looking for our next Lead Teacher of Politics who shares in our commitment to the highest of academic standards and to the advancement of our students’ social mobility. The successful candidate will lead an outstanding department who continuously perform outstanding lessons to deliver outstanding results.

Our Politics department teaches the Edexcel specification and has achieved excellent outcomes in the school, with 73% of students achieving A*/A in the 2023 A-levels. Many of our students study Politics related subjects at universities including Oxford and Cambridge, LSE and Warwick. 

All staff contribute in some way to the school’s extensive co-curricular programme, student development and whole school life.
