The LAE educates around ten times the number of students who suffer from some form of economic hardship in comparison to other, similar schools.

To help us support these students, we operate a fund which provides direct support to disadvantaged students both in, and outside, school. The fund helps students meet a variety of costs, some as basic as travel to and from school, clothing and stationery, but also including things such as educational trips and visits and paid-for co-curricular opportunities that hugely enrich sixth form life.   

The generous support of donors to the LAE enable the LAE to continue supporting students in challenging circumstances.  

Your donation could directly help a student in financial difficulty: 

• Donations of £25 could purchase a stationery set for students. 
• Donations of £50 can assist students with school shoes and clothes. 
• Donations of £100 can assist parents with food and provisions during the holidays when the school catering is not available to them. 
• Donations of £290 can support a student take up the Duke of Edinburgh expedition in order that their opportunities and experiences are widened. 

As a registered charity whenever you contribute to the support fund the charity can, with the completion of a Gift Aid Declaration, increase the value of the donation by the basic rate tax amount, currently £25 for every £100 donated, at no additional cost to the donor.    

Or if your employer or pension provider offers a  Payroll Giving scheme, any donations you give through the scheme will be taken before Income Tax is taken off. You can reclaim the difference between the tax you pay on the donation and what the charity receives when you fill in your Self Assessment tax return.
